JIS Flange

JIS Flange are flanges with Dimensions as per JIS Standard,  "JIS" Stands for Japanese Industrial Standard This kind of flange include lots of specification, like SOP, SPH, Blind flange, plate flange, welded neck flange, etc. Pressure grade from 5K 10K 16K 20K 30K, size range: 10A-1500A.

What is a JIS flange?

Within the world of industrial piping systems, JIS flanges play a crucial role. These flanges adhere to the stringent guidelines established by the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), overseen by the Japanese Standards Association (JSA). The JIS designation ensures consistent dimensions, material specifications, and tolerances for these flanges, guaranteeing their proper function and interchangeability.

Standardization: JIS flanges share similarities with other flange types, most notably ANSI flanges. However, there might be subtle variations in terms of dimensional specifications and pressure ratings to cater to specific Japanese industrial requirements.

Material Selection: JIS flanges are typically manufactured from commonly used piping materials such as steel (e.g., A105, 316/L stainless steel). However, they can also be produced in a wider range of alloys depending on the intended application and pressure requirements.

JIS Flange VS ASME Flange

1. Material (similarity):

Both JIS flange and ASME flange material can be carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloy steel.

2. Design pressure (difference):

About JIS flange, the pressure is 5K,10K,16K,20K, 30K. Regarding the ASME flange, the pressure is 150LBS, 300LBS, 400LBS, 600LBS, 900LBS

3. Type (similarity):

Slip on, Weld Neck, Plate, Blind, Socket Weld, Thread, Lap Joint.

4. Installation (similarity and difference):

There is no difference in the way of JIS & ASME flange connection, JIS standard flanges for sale are suitable for connecting to JIS standard pipe end.

JIS Flange FAQs

Q What is the difference between SOP and SOH flanges in Japanese standard?
