ASTM Flange

The American Association for Materials and Testing, known in English as the American Society for Testing and Materials, it is one of the largest standard development institutions in the world. The ASTM association developed a series of standards for flange materials, in which the chemical composition and mechanical properties and other requirements of various materials, specific standards such as ASTM A105, ASTM A182, ASTM A694, ASTM A350, etc.

ASTM Flange VS ASME Flange

1. Standard (Difference):

ASME flange is the manufacture standard.

ASTM flange is the material standard.

2. Design Pressure (Similarity)

Both of their pressure can be 150LBS/300LBS/400LBS/600LBS/900LBS

3. Type & Facing (Difference):

Type: Slip-on, Weld Neck, Blind, Lap Joint, Socket Weld, Threaded.

Facing: RF,FF,RTJ

4. Installation (Similarity and Difference):

They are both produced for connection to American standard pipeline systems, The ASTM standard is the material requirement;

ASME standard is the production date requirement, they complement each other.
